I’m Lauri Burns. I’m the founder of the Teen Project and the author of Punish for Purpose. I grew up in the system, I was an abused child and I aged out of homelessness and I spiral down to drug addiction and prostitution. I believed my life was saved to save other kids that are living the system, the homelessness. Today, I have a 30 year old who’s a social worker and that’s my biological daughter. I have 30 foster children and 17 kids that aged out of homelessness that I've rescued and brought back home. When I’m not working, my hobbies are riding motorcycles, playing scrabble, am crazy about playing scrabble and reading teen books; so if you read my book, you’re going to see a lot of similarities there because that’s all I read.
