Practically every time we give t a public speech, we are asked: What is the profile? What does the average child sex offender look like? What are they like? I've equated that to asking what is the average temperature on Earth, to prepare for going outside. You'll most frequently be wrong and the information will be useless to you. We have found, in our experience at the FBI, that child sex offenders are evenly distributed around every population. Age, national origin, sexual identity, sexual preference, income, education, cultural background. Child offender community is so diverse that it is useless to say what the average one looks like because there is no practical application that can be used for that information.
