For single parents, it can be a little bit harder in adoption. In terms of, if they are presented to a birth mom and she has the choice between a couple or a single parent, sometimes the couples will have an easier time of it. There are times that the birth mother will choose the single parent because there is something that single person offers them. They will read their profile and there is something about that single person, they like. There is something about the chemistry and it will touch them and the birth mom will say, "I want that person." So what can the single person do to become the person who is picked by a birth mom? What they can do is, they can present in a profile or when they talk to them on the phone or in person, the best side of themselves. What they have to offer a child. The community, their friends, their family surrounding them that will all be there to help parent the child. They would want to share all that with the birth mom to let her know that they can provide the best possible home for that child. They will get picked. Single parents who pursue adoption, it may take them a little longer, at the end, there are babies to adopt. They will be able to adopt if they pursue it.
