It's going to be pretty clear to Simone, as she gets a little bit older, that two men can't have a baby. Being adopted is part of our daily discussions at home. There is a photo of Scout and myself, with our birth mom between us in the hospital holding Simone. Simone has conversations on the phone with her birth mom occasionally. It's just part of the process that we went through. Simone will never question, "Where did I come from" or "Does my mom love me?" She'll know that her birth mother always loved her and always will love her. It's part of her story. Adoption is just part of our daily discussions in our home.
