My Golden Nugget Advice
Be available and listen;
With teenagers it is easy to feel sort of "abandoned". The teenager withdraws to his/her room and seem to not want to be with you at all anymore. Still make yourself available. For example, take a book and sit down in the kitchen or living room where the teenager will easily find you. Maybe propose that the teenager join you, doing homework there for a while. Maybe have a cup of tea together, while you read and the the teenager works on his/her homework. Listen to what he or she may have to say. Try to keep any comments you may have, non judge mental.
