Erica Curtis, LMFT, ATR-BC, is a practitioner, writer, consultant, and educator in the fields of marriage and family therapy and art therapy. She works in private practice, is a professor at Loyola Marymount University, and is co-developer and instructor for UCLArts and Healing’s certificate program, Social Emotional Arts. Erica is past president of the Southern California Art Therapy Assoc., past director on the board of directors of the American Art Therapy Assoc., and is a program advisor for UCLArts and Healing. Erica has lectured widely for institutions and organizations including USC, UCLA, UCSD, Mom’s Club International, and Kaiser Permanente. She has appeared as an expert source in USA Today, Boston Globe, EHow Family, Shine from Yahoo!, Women’s World Magazine, and She Knows Parenting, to name a few. Erica approaches both her work and parenting with a unique combination of scientifically grounded theory and practice along with creativity and imagination.Erica is currently working on a parenting book to help parents maximize the social-emotional benefits of arts experiences with their children. Erica is the mother of two.
