Some of the most common misconceptions about attachment parenting are that parents become slaves to their children or that children completely run the household or that you have to run around and make your schedule complete revolve around that child. In my experience, attachment parenting allowed us to do the opposite. When I was close to my child, it gave us more freedom with our relationship. If I needed to go away somewhere, we had a trust there that wasn't going to be broken. Being close to my children, actually, gave me more freedom. It didn't make my child run our household at all.
