Many parents worry that they should limit the amount of time that their teen or tween is spending online or on their technological devices. I think it is very, very important for parents to limit all kinds of media use. They should let that limit grow as their teenager grows. So with kids, middle schoolers, it should be less time on TV and technology. With high schoolers or older teenagers they should start to get a little bit more, but they should always have a 9 or 10 pm bedtime. Because it takes them a little bit to wind down from being on their devices. For 16 and 17 year olds you want to get them ready for the real world. So let them sort of set their own rules but make sure they are getting their sleep time and they are getting their homework done.
