I’m a firm believer that there’s never any reason whatsoever to use physical force against a child to get them to do what you want them to do. At the end of the day, I’m the adult. I think I’m smarter than a 9-year-old. I can get a 9-year-old to do what I need her to do without putting all of this on this little bit of a person. You know, if you struck a person out on the street like some parents do their children, you would be brought up on charges. You would be brought up on charges and put into prison for hitting people in that kind of manner. So to turn around in the confines of your home and put your hand on your child just seems like, you know, something that I just can’t get behind ever. I just feel like there are other ways that you can discipline your child. Go to google. Get a book. Say a prayer. Ask a friend. Phone a friend. Do what you have to do to make sure that you understand that you are the adult here and there are other ways to get your child to do what you need your child to do.
