Marketing a position yourself for athletic scholarships, how does a student do that? There are a couple of ways students’ do that, there are showcase tournaments in every individual sport that are known to be vehicles where the college coaches are in attendance. It’s important that you play and participate in the showcase tournaments. A lot of sports have camps that college coaches attend, you would want to be able to go to those camps so that coaches can see you. You also want to make sure that all your data is current and relevant on the different recruiting websites. Every individual sport has their own website whether be Tennis, Football, Soccer or Basketball. You want to make sure that you upload your data, your pictures, your records, so that the coaches when they are looking at that information, they are looking at the most recent data that there is regarding yourself. And then the athletic resume, you want to make sure that resume is current; you want to make sure that it’s disseminated to all the coaches of the various colleges that you are interested in.
