Well, the concerns I have for my older daughter who is disabled, her future – the same as the concerns I would have for my little one. Will they be happy? What can I do to make sure that they’re safe? That they are provided for? What can I do to prepare them for their adult life?
It’s really the same. It’s different logistically for a disabled kid. My daughter is now coming on her 21st birthday and so the things I’m thinking about are in my community, what kind of work/shelter programs are appropriate for her? What would be the best group home as far as a living situation for her? Things like that.
