I think you have to be able to use both state and privately funded therapies for your child. You do want to take advantage of what´s being provided to you when you get the diagnosis. However, you need to look at your child and see what else can you help them with. If they need some additional speech therapy, if they need some additional social skills groups, those are important. And you really need to again look at what your child needs and then supplment with what they are getting from the state and that just benefits them so much more.
