Finding a great nanny can be incredibly hard, especially for a new mother if you've never left your baby with somebody else. And I'd say don't be afraid to interview 20 people if you need to to find the right fit. But also don't be afraid to embrace the first person if you feel a great fit. It's really important to make sure that you're on the same page in terms of parental approach and discipline. A good nanny is going to do whatever the parent wants in terms of a parental approach. And because consistency is so important with babies and toddlers, you need to make sure that that same approach is there. It's very important to make sure that you have good communication with your nanny, and a great way to do this is to ask her to keep a log during the day of what your baby or your toddler is doing, so that at the end of a very busy day for both of you, you have some notes that you can look back at and ask questions about the day.
