So there are many ways in which we can boost progesterone in the second half of the patients cycle that's called their luteal phase. They can use tablets, capsules, and also gels that actually go into the vagina to help with implantation. We can use this in patient's natural cycles just to help boost the progesterone level, or in someone who has recurrent losses as well. In patients who undergo in vitro fertilization, we have to use progesterone for the second half of the cycle because their body won't produce it on its own. Those are the benefits of using progesterone to boost the second half of the cycle. The risks include a small increased risk of some congenital abnormalities. We think that was related to certain studies and the type of progesterone used that we don't routinely use in our practice. So the risks are very small.
