Dr. Jeremy Friedman hails from Cape Town, South Africa where he attended medical school. He moved to Canada and completed his residency training at the world famous Hospital for Sick Children in 1994. Since then he has worked as a pediatrician at ‘Sickkids’ and has been head of Pediatric Medicine since 2004. He is currently the associate Pediatrician-in-Chief at Sickkids and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. He has won numerous awards for his teaching, clinical care and humanitarianism.
Jeremy has published more than 80 manuscripts in peer reviewed journals on pediatric topics, written many textbook chapters and has sat on a number of editorial boards for pediatric journals in Canada and the USA. He has edited or co-edited two pediatric textbooks and five bestselling books for parents, most recently Baby Care Basics, The Baby Care Book and the A to Z of Children’s Health.
He is the medical advisor to the Children’s Wish Foundation and is on the Board of Director of Jacob’s Ladder Foundation. He is passionate about taking care of sick children, and teaching the next generation of pediatric caregivers.
Jeremy lives in Toronto, ON with his wife, two teenage children and the family golden retriever.
