Pediatrician Sonya Sethi Gohill reviews when you can expect your child to crawl and then take his or her’s first steps. Most begin to crawl within 7-10 months of age, which can be a very exciting time for both parent and child. This allows them to move about on their own and creates a sense of independence and freedom. Crawling will then lead to them standing up and then walking, which usually happens between 12-18 months. Before you know it, you’re little one will be running, so take the time to enjoy the process. It goes quickly!

- Most babies begin to crawl sometime between seven and 10 months of age. This is a really exciting time for your baby because it gives them a sense of independence and freedom so that they can move about on their own. After your baby learns to crawl, they often times learn to pull to stand. This will help prepare them to walk. Most babies will take their first steps sometime around their first birthday, but it's normal for them to take their steps as late as 18 months of age. As a mom and a pediatrician, I know it is so exciting to see your baby learn how to walk. Before you know it, your baby is going to be running, so really take the time to enjoy this process because it goes by so quickly.
