And Reglin is used for heartburn and stomach upset. As a side effect, Reglin will decrease the dopamine levels which increases the prolactin levels. The concern with Reglin is that it crosses the blood brain barrier and it can cause depression in Mom's, which is not a good thing. There's another drug called Domperidone, I know it sounds like a champagne. the generic name is Motilium, and this medication is not FDA approved. However, if the physician is willing to write for it in the united States, you can get the medication made up for you through a compounding Pharmacy. If you can't find a doctor whose willing to write for Domperidone. If you go on line, there are websites that will send it to you because Domperidone is used pretty much around the world as in over-the-counter medication. Domperidone does not cross the blood brain barrier, it does not cause depression but it often increases milk supply which is good news to Mom's.
