Best ways to burp your baby

Corkey Harvey, MS, RN, IBCLC, discusses the best ways to get your baby to burp. Many parents may do this differently, which is completely fine. How you decide to burp your baby, whether it’s with gentle rocking or light pats on the back, depends on the baby, so it’s important to have a good understanding of their needs. The upright position with some rubbing and light patting can help, or you might want to try something else. Just be sure not to pat your baby’s back too hard, and keep in mind that they love rhythmic patterns.
