When I had my first child, I was given a great piece of advice that really helped me and my husband. And, that was to allow my husband to find his way with the newborn baby. That was let him figure some of it out himself and develop a bond with the baby. I was there to answer any questions if he had any, or if he say, "Hey, babe, you know. What should I do? She seems fuzzy." Then, I would offer, "Well, I don't know. But, I've learned that if you hold her this way, she stops crying." But, what I didn't do was tell him what to do or insert myself when he didn't ask. And, then, I really allowed this great opportunity for him to develop this beautiful relationship with the baby.
