Conflicts are a normal part of everyday social interactions and children need to learn very early on to expect conflicts and to know how to deal with them. When parents encourage and allow children to solve their own problems and conflicts in a very age appropriate way, they're doing a lot to help normalize the fact that conflicts arise; they're encouraging children to use creative attempts at solving different problems and they're exposing their children to a trial and error scenario where children are trying one thing to see what works and what doesn't. Conflicts arise in nature all the time and children, early on, do need to to be allowed to solve these conflicts.
