The idea of parenting for peace is this: If we really want to change the world, let's raise a generation that is built for peace; who are hardwired with the neurodevelopment that supports capacities that we need in a peacemaker. Empathy, trust, imagination, intelligence, creativity, to really address the issues that we are going to have coming up in our world, that we have in our world. It is a win/win because a child who is wired in this way, is a joy to parent and when he or she grows up as a peacemaker and has contributed to the world. The book is based on seven steps and seven principles to foster this optimal development to support these capacities. One big point I want to make is that this is less about doing and more about not doing. Nature has programmed us to evolved. We are designed to be come more peaceful, to become happier and intelligent. We just keep getting in our own way through our birthing practices, through our parenting practices. This book is a scientific road map for experiencing the beautiful evolution that we are designed to experience.
