Well, you know, so much about getting angry is the fact that you don’t have a tight action point. So often what we say to our children is, we say, “Little Suzie, go get your shoes on.” And little Suzie looks at you, “Okay, mommy.” And goes off and plays. And then you come back and say, “Little Suzie! I told you to get your shoes on.” And little Suzie says, “Okay, mommy.” And you keep doing what you’re going to do. And then you finally come in and say, “Little Suzie! I told you to get your shoes on!” And little Suzie is all uptight and you’re all uptight and everybody is upset, because little Suzie know that you didn’t mean business until you came and yelled at her the third time. The one of the most important ways to not get angry with your child is to have a tight action point, so your child knows that you mean what you say and that you expect obedience the first time.
