Turning tragedy into philanthropy has been a great help in my healing process, because when my daughter was alive, my whole life was focused on taking care of her and raising her. And then, when she was gone, there was a huge void in our life. And so, for the start, this charity, which we started to call friendsofmaddie.org and what it does is it helps families that have babies in NICUs. And by starting that organization, it really gave us a place to put all the energy that otherwise, you know, didn’t have a place for anymore and without having a place to put that, we would really… would have kind of got lost, I think. But we were focusing on something positive, helping people in a similar situation as ourselves. So that’s really where the great value came for us. And, you know, before we can get too down about our loss, we try to focus on how we can help other people. And it’s been a great help for me personally.
