As many people know, plastic contains toxic chemicals that can leach into your foods. A lot of parents are afraid to use glass or ceramics with their child because they are afraid that it's going to break, so they buy their children plastic cups, plastic plates, and plastic silverware.
The truth is that once you put any sort of heated food, like mac and cheese and you put it on a plastic plate and eat it with a plastic fork; all of that is leaching -- The toxics in the plastics are going to leach into their food. Instead, just trust that your children are going to be okay with a pyrex glass bowel or a ceramic dish that is well made. Those are not going to break. If they do break, they are not going to get cut because you are sitting right there next to them.
Glass bottles, on the other hand, you are going to want to use those when they are infants and you are feeding them. Once they get to about six or seven months old, you want to switch to stainless steel. Those are completely safe. They can carry them around the house. They are not going to break. That way, you will have an absolutely plastic free eating environment for your family and your toddler.
