Sometimes sports are extremely expensive. I happen to pick two of the most expensive sports, or my children did anyway, gymnastics and figure skating. My older daughter did competition cheerleading for a while and that was also extremely expensive. And as a parent you want to give your kids everything in life that you didn't have and my mom certainly sacrificed a lot to make sure that my younger sister and I got to participate in whatever sport, or whatever activity that we wanted to do. So, I wanted to do no less for my children. I won't lie, it was a huge sacrifice, but I did whatever I had to do to make it work. It was not easy, but I feel that the reward, the payoff in the end was definitely worth it. If Gabrielle had never gone to the Olympics and had never won I would've been just as happy because I got to see my child enjoy something that she loved doing. And I think that's the most important thing. As parents, we've lived our lives, and now it's time to help our children live theirs and so, even though the sacrifice may seem to be great at times I would definitely say the payoff is worth so much more.
