There's such a temptation when you first start using coupons that you just want to go gung-ho and you want to try to cut your grocery bill by 95% tomorrow. But that is not going to work, because what you'll end up doing is you'll buy like mountains of all this stuff that you probably don't need and won't use and it's really not going to benefit your family and you're going to spend all this time to do that. What I suggest instead is first off get a grocery budget and I suggest $20 per person per week if you need a ballpark figure to go with. And then plan a menu based on what's on sale at the store and what you have on hand. And then try to gradually shave your grocery bill down by 1 to 3% every month and over time you're going to see significant savings, but you're not going to burn out by going gung-ho.
