Morning madness. Boy, don't we moms know this well. Getting you and your kids out the door in the morning, can be crazy. It can drive you nuts. The moms who do this really well, say you have to be acutely organized. Have a plan and stick to it as best you can. Have a set schedule; wake up, breakfast, pack lunches, get backpacks ready, and so on. Have a plan for who does what, when. Have the kids participate. It is very empowering for them. With that being said, kids will be kids, and there will be glitches. You have to know your kids really well, so that you adapt. For instance, your son won't get up on time? Set the alarm 15 minutes earlier. If your daughter won't get dressed ever? The night before, have her help pick out clothes with you, so she has a buy in. Finally, make it fun. Carve out five minutes to shoot hoops before you go off to school and work. You'll all be happier campers.
