I think people definitely have a sense of how they want to parent when they are pregnant and they have all sorts of plans for how it's going to be. When the babies actually arrive and when you have two babies, a lot of those things have to go out the window. What I usually tell people is that if you have the idea that you want to co-sleep, or you want to do attachment parenting, or you plan to feed on demand, then it's great to try. But if it doesn't work, you have to be kind to yourself and make sure that you do what really works for your family. With twins, a lot of those things don't really work just because of the nature of having twins. When you have two babies, feeding on demand, for example, is really hard on the mom and it may be worth it to change your plan.
