I think it’s so cool that as moms and parents, we live in an age that even if we’re single, we are not alone when it comes to needing advice or help with parenting. I started chronicling my journey to becoming a mom online. I have a twitter account. I have a whole slew of people who I’ve never met, but I would ask them anything about parenting. And part of it is community, finding your community, finding people that you trust, finding people that support you and then having basically the patience to say, “All right, I have a three year old and he doesn’t stop punching. Is it normal? Is this okay?” And then what’s amazing is having parents from all over, who either have a three year old going, “Dude, yes, what do we do?” to someone having a thirteen year old that says, “Hey, sorry to tell you, this is normal. Things get better at four.” And it’s very comforting to have this sort of insight, this women’s wisdom that’s all connected through this anonymous series of tubes and channels. At the end of the day, we are mom to mom, and we are connecting and helping each other through. It’s pretty amazing.
