If you find that your child is identifying more closely with one race or another, understand that's normal for a mixed race for a person. Throughout her life, she probably will, from time to time, identify more closely with one side of her ethnic background than the other. Talk to her about it. You may be surprised at why she feels the way she does. Maybe it's her peer group. Maybe it's that she feels more closely identified with one parent, if she is being raised by a single parent. It's okay. It's natural. It's normal, and it may change over time.
