When it comes to different religious and cultural views, this typically will have been discussed beforehand, or it also may have been a source of conflict before the marriage ended. What we need to realize is that studies show that 96% of adults actually believe in a God. Children are going to hear about religion no matter what. What's most important is that they hear it from you. And the way that they hear it is going to affect them the most. Depending on your level of conflict is going to depend on whether you continue what you initially agreed on or not. If there's a high level of conflict, unfortunately there's no enforceability with the other parent as to how they raise the child. What you can do to positively affect your child is to teach your them about diversity, to teach them that difference is okay and to understand that your child is half of you and half of the other parent. So they share these two religions. And acceptance of both is going to help them fare the best.
