Being a same-sex parent family, we get asked a lot, "Well, what will your daughter call you? Will it be daddy or dada?" Or some people even say, "Will she call you by your first name?" And the answer is no, she's calling us whatever comes naturally to her. When she was a little younger and starting to talk, we tried to be daddy and dada, but for her she just calls us 'my daddies' or 'daddy.' So when she's meeting someone, she'll say, "These are my daddies," or, "This is my daddy." She actually once said 'other daddy.' And it's what's natural to her, and we're her dads and she can call us daddy if she wants.
