Transcription:
Peter Levine: This approach, the manic experiencing, doesn’t tell the story. It works with helping people experience where the trauma stuck in their body. So for example, you see something that’s really horrifying or scary, terrifying and you Huh! You go like this. And what happens is people get frozen in that moment of the shock, in the moment of the trauma. By being able to access the body’s sensations, by being able to feel where we’re tight or where we’ve collapsed, then we can change the body, and reset our nervous system and our psyche that we are back into our equilibrium and back into life.
