I think people are surprised by how many things actually do put you at risk for postpartum depression. It's not one or 2. It's an entire laundry list. It's everything from if you've been through infertility treatment, those women are at higher risk. Women who are immigrants, they're from a different area and they've moved and maybe they're not around the support system tha they are used to. Women who are low income lots of financial stress. Any woman who experienced any sort of trauma as a child, maybe losing a parent, losing a mom is a big one. Military moms whose spouse or partners are deployed. People who actually adopt children are at risk for having postpartum depression. If you have diabetes, type 1, type 2 or just gestational, you're at high risk for postpartum depression. If you've had depression or anxiety or any kind of mental illness. It's a lot. It makes me sad that more women don't know all about all of these and are more in advance and sort of prepared. That maybe this might something that would happen to them because I think that would go a long way in helping moms understand what might come and then it's not their fault tha they had this real risk factor. There's something that you can do about it. I look forward to the day when we do that a lot more.
