It can be that I'm difficult to maintain professionalism in the workplace as a breastfeeding mother, because the act is just in itself not very professional. You have to carry a pump to work. You definitely have to make sure to wear supportive bra. Sometimes, it can be less than professional. One funny story that happened to me the other day was that I was wearing a low-cut dress and I had to wear a tinktop underneath. So after pumping, I had to make a phone call. I wasn't paying attention. My recess ended, and I had to go back to my classroom. When I went back to my classroom, one of my students looked at me with a strange expression, and said, Mrs. King, your bra! " And it turned out my bra was fully exposed. I hadn't pulled up the tinktop underneath my dress. There's also another little boy that saw, and looked at me and said, "Mrs. King, that's disgustin! It's your bra." So I think, it's definitely hard to maintain professionalism as a breastfeeding working mother.
